So it’s been three months since I finished chemo.
Three months sounds like a long time (at least for me) and still there are things that aren’t quite back to “normal”.
My groins/hips still bother me off and on. BUT I do sleep without pain!
After doing something different, like walking more than usual, sitting on an uncomfortable surface, washing windows (like I did the other day), vacuuming, yes anything thats not part of everyday, I feel it the next day, being sore and stiff.
Pulled a muscle in a shoulder when stretching too hard after the surgery and then when working out a couple of weeks ago I re-injured myself. Really hampers my working out!
Had my teeth/mouth checked the other day and do have a small inflammation of the gums. Nothing serious but never had any problems before.
My theory is that my immune system has had enough to take care of so that some parts have been left on the wayside.
ANYWAY, today after working out this morning (went back to the gym a couple of weeks ago, working very lightly and carefully) and while running an errand, I noticed that my legs felt light and strong, I’d say normal. Same thing walking W this evening.
Not this heavy, tired feeling that’s been there for months and months. Instead they felt like they used to, before this cancer/chemo journey.
So wonderful, so amazing, so happy making, filling my body with joy.
Thank you for reminding me to still have trust and faith that things can change towards wellness, health and comfort, and to be grateful for every step forward.
